Acer palmatum ‘Ryugu’ is a dwarf tree with tiny leaves that emerge a pinkish orange with a splash of pink, then change to a variegated green and cream in summer. The cooler days of autumn bring on bright red foliage. Showy red branches are present year round but provide special winter interest. The best color will be present if grown in some shade.
