These cultivars of Japanese False Holly (Osmanthus heterophyllus) become wonderful medium-size, evergreen shrubs. They grow predictably into attractive plants that are both striking and tough as nails: the holly-like leaves on the shrubs bear bright splashes of color, and the plants, of Asian origin, are durable and easy to grow. Use them to anchor dramatic container arrangements or use them in garden settings as attractive accents or low hedges. These generally pest-free plants are quickly gaining popularity, because of their considerable resistance to browsing deer.
