Edsal Wood Japanese Red Pine

A tight little flattened cushion with bright green thin needles. Small reddish-brown buds cover the plant. The slow tight growth and color contrast of the needles with the buds make for an attractive rock garden
element. Seedlings were selected by Edsal Wood of Aurora, Oregon in the 1990’s. There is some opinion that although it was selected from a densiflora seedling crop, there possibly was some hybridization with
plants of thunbergi or mugo parentage.
