Considered by many to be the most brilliant of all the Japanese Maples, this sturdy cultivar matures into a broad, multi-branched tree. The renowned, upright tree gets its name from a feature at the base of the leaf that resembles a sake cup. The large, thick, green leaves hold up well in hot summer sun and change to dramatic orange-red in fall.
