Dwarf Trident Maple
Acer buergerianum ‘Miyasama yatsubusa’ is a slow growing form of the Trident Maple that is useful in small gardens, containers and bonsai. New tri-lobed foliage emerges a purple-bronze color which quickly turns green and hardens with a thickened, leathery texture. Autumn foliage may begin bright yellow and become intensely red-orange to purple before falling to expose gray bark which becomes uniquely textured with maturity. The small tree prefers full sun in moist, well-drained soil.
