Hemlocks comprise a genus of graceful, finely textured evergreen trees, from which we offer an exciting assortment of garden-worthy cultivars from five species. These elegant selections, many of them dwarf and slow growing, perform best in cool, moist northern climates, where they tolerate shade and appreciate well drained, acidic soil. Choice cultivars offer a range of options: brightly colored foliage, some with frosty tips; pyramidal, mounding and irregular shapes; and sizes for small and large spaces. They also respond well to shearing.
