The short, thick, bright green needles of this vibrant, dwarf Japanese Red Pine keep their color all year long. They grow densely along stout horizontal branches that give the unusual pine a flat-topped, low-growing habit. Prominent tan buds add interest to this seedling from a witch’s broom selected by Sydney Waxman, University of Connecticut.
